Hot Yellow Gas

This hands on activity is a great way to introduce the scientific method to students! Since the scientific method is full of information, the students may get confused and or bored when learning all of this new information, however if the scientific method is introduced along with this Hot Yellow Gas reaction, then it becomes a very fun and exciting learning experience! Each step is part of the learning process, for example, the children are given their materials and are told that they will be mixing a few of the materials together, and they must predict what they think will happen when the materials are mixed together (hypothesis). This is a very authentic way to introduce the scientific method which will help the students memorize it and put meaning to it when they go back and think about the hot yellow gas activity!
